It's been a tragic day as the world suffers the great loss of Michael Jackson, the biggest, most renowned and successful pop star of all time. And with such stardom, there are things that inevitably come to mind when thinking of Jackson: ABC, Thriller, the white glove and of course Neverland Ranch.

Although he passed property deeds of the 2,800-acre estate over to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC in 2008, the ranch had a long run under Jackson's ownership as an ultimate fantasyland for kids.

Located near Santa Ynez, California, the land was purchased by Jackson in 1988 for about $17 million. He embellished the park with Ferris wheels, a zoo, a menagerie, a movie theater, merry-go-round, zipper, spider, super slide, roller coaster, bumper cars and much more. Just like the fantasy of Peter Pan, the park was meant to elicit a similar feeling for children of all ages.

While it did just that for so many, it also led to accusations of sexual molestation from various children claiming that they had been sexually abused while at the ranch.

See below for some gallery of Neverland Ranch before it got turned over.
