Get a bold chandelier to make a big statement.
There's no better way to add romance and drama to a room than with a pretty chandelier. These days chandeliers come in all shapes, sizes, colors -- and prices. Many are on the high side. (One walk around a lighting store and you'll get hives just looking at the price tags.)
The real question is: Can you give your room luxe lighting, even if you're on a budget?
A real budget?
I believe so. So I went looking for snazzy chandeliers for less than 100 bucks.
It took some hunting around, but I found 'em. Take a look. You'll be surprised at how much style you can get for the money.
Right, from top clockwise: Urban Outfitters calls their 3-D Chandelier, $36, a "non-chandelier chandelier" because it comes as 2 pieces of MDF, which you fit together. There is just one bulb in the center. For a bold, yet traditional statement the Black 9-Light Iron Chandelier, $80.99 from Overstock. The Chalet Chandelier, $99, at PBTeen comes in a bunch of fun colors, and they even sell optional candle shades for mood lighting (with polka dots, too!).
Add a bit of luxury with an understated chandelier.
Above, from left clockwise: Closest to a traditional piece, the Hampton Bay Kristin Collection Antique White Mini Chandelier is the perfect fit for over your bathtub, and you can relax in the tub knowing you only spent $89.97 at The Home Depot. For a more elegant simple statement, try the 3-Light Pendant Chandelier for $99.99 at Target. HÖRBY, $39.99 at IKEA is easily the best deal of the bunch, and bonus: you can move the arms around to point in whatever direction is needed. For those teetering on the edge of modern, the Brushed Nickel Transitional Chandelier is the perfect balance, $94 at Lowe's.
