The Goods
Schoolhouse Electric Co. manufactures beautiful glass light fixtures using moulds from the early part of the last century. (The founder of the company discovered a virtual treasure trove of vintage moulds in a warehouse in upstate New York and decided to bring the classic shapes back into production.) Schoolhouse Electric Co. has over 100 different shapes in production, including hand-painted milk glass shades that made our hearts' flutter they are so darn perfect.

The Secret
You've spent years scouring flea markets for that perfect fixture for your 1940s bungalow--who knew you could have ordered an almost period piece with a simple click of the mouse. This little company is well-loved by the design world and you should love them too!

Schoolhouse has an incredible range of products. If you find the website too daunting, visit one of their two showrooms (the flagship in Portland or the showroom in New York City) or go ahead and ask them to send you a catalog.
