A low-hanging bedside chandelier gives you more space on your nightstand. Photo: Emiya, Flickr
It was a shot of the Empire Iron Bed in a white-walled room with two stacked vintage suitcases as the bedside table. But instead of putting a table lamp on top of the suitcases, the stylists hung the Palazzo chandelier. It came down very low, just a foot or so above the suitcases, and it looked fabulous.
It sent my mind reeling. In my space-challenged bedroom, hanging a chandelier may be the perfect solution. It's timeless and romantic but still super functional, so I wanted to pass along the idea. Next time that you're figuring out how to light your bedroom, try adding a low-hanging chandelier.
And if you want to experiment before committing to the idea, do what I'm going to do. Go to IKEA and buy one of their cheapie chandeliers and test it out. The Kristaller is very similar to Sundance's Palazzo -- And at $39, it costs several hundred dollars less.
