How can you tell a classic is a classic? Versatility and timelessness. That's what we think Verner Panton's Panton chair has accomplished. At first, you might think it's a design from the future. But, in fact, Panton designed this chair back in 1959. The sleek design came from his desire to develop a chair molded from just one piece of plastic. It's also been primarily manufactured by Vitra since it's birth.

Not only does the Panton chair fit in with every possible type of decor, but it can be used in numerous ways, as you will see in the following gallery. Before we get there though, I have to mention that this is one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. Its dreamy molded plastic just wraps around your body perfectly. I have to say, I'm kinda biased on this one!

1) In the Living Room. Living Etc. shows us that the Panton chair can be used as a pop of color to brighten any space. Since the Panton chair is now available in a variety of colors, you're sure to find one to fit in with any color story.

2. In the Dining Room. Eve's 1950's-style table, clock, and lamp look even better with four Panton chairs, the perfect mid-century fit.

3) In the Office. Apartment Therapy asks the question: Could the Panton Chair possibly be the perfect desk chair? I would vote yes!

4. Another Dining Room. Kirsten's beautiful and elegant dining table is flanked by two Panton chairs, which distinguish those seated at the head of the table from the rest of the guests.

I asked Kirsten why she chose these chairs. "I love how the chair moves," she says. "There is something about the curve that is whimsical yet modern. I thought they would be a perfect addition to my home because I love vintage, glamorous pieces yet they have to have a modern feel."

5) One Last Dining Room. If you want to make a bold statement place multiple Panton chairs around a large table. Doesn't this photo just make you want to throw an evening dinner party?

So how would you use the Panton chair?
