When it comes to photo display, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. Photo: Living, Etc.

I find that a lot of my favorite rooms include family gallery of some kind. Whether it's a single frame resting on a nightstand or an entire wall of lovingly-arranged gallery, I simply can't get enough of pictures of loved ones. Integrating those near and dear to us is the perfect way to customize a space of your own, but where are all of the creative display ideas? Surely there are cool quirky arrangements that venture beyond picture frames, right?

RIGHT! Lucky for you, I've rounded up a few. If you like to march to the beat of your own drum, these photo display ideas will make you "say cheese!":

1) DIY and crafty queen Ali Edwards used an old type case to create a photo montage extraordinaire of her family. I love the way that the antiqued-wood reflects a history of its own juxtaposed with the history of Ali's family. Just perfect!

2) One of my favorite photography resources, Photojojo, has a fantastic idea: glass jar photo frames. Your friends will be green with envy for your eco-green display!

3) Love the montage look but hate the hours of meticulous arranging? Wallpaper designer Lisa Bengtsson takes the guesswork (and hammer + nails!) out of the display with her chic and quirky "Familjen" design. You can purchase it right here.

4) An entire photo wall makes a big impact when grouped strategically. Style Files blogger Danielle De Lange has a round-up of some fantastic options.

5) How about taking a cue from Hudson shop owner, Jill? She's mixed a few old correspondence trinkets with antiqued gallery for a beautiful, classic look.

6) On a shoestring (err, wire) budget? Try this idea from SFGirlByBay blogger Victoria Smith, who used a wire curtain rod to display old family memories. (When you're finished ogling her photo wire, check out her entire home tour with ShelterPop).

Now comes the hard part: Choosing which of those adorable gallery to display! Happy hanging!
