Not only are the teacher's particularly interested in student achievement, but the gothic buildings, charming courtyards and grand halls are enough to make any muggle's heart go pitter-pat. While you may have to forgo those dreams of wizardry, there are colleges in the U.S. that offer a Hogwarts-like experience. Thanks to Dr. Kat's fun list, we give you 5 colleges that feel like Hogwarts -- from the buildings to the college culture.

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

Does Harry Potter even realize how gorgeous Hogwarts is? We say he's one lucky boy wizard. Check out the five colleges most likely to capture any muggle's heart.

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

University of Chicago
Harry Potter fans will feel right at home at the University of Chicago. Not only is the school's grand dining center, Hutchinson Hall, an exact replica of Oxford's Christ Church -- where the movies are filmed -- but there are gargoyles everywhere. Just the right gothic touch to get a Potter fan's heart pumping.

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

Bryn Mawr College

Bryn Mawr College's campus doesn't feel like suburban Philadelphia. It seems more like a castle in the English countryside, stained glass and fireplace in dorm rooms and all. They actually play quidditch here -- weird! -- and students support a Facebook page that claims that they are the "true Hogwarts." Oh, and the school mascot is the owl. Isn't that oh-so-Harry?

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

Cornell University
Set faraway from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan (just like Hogwarts is from London), Cornell University has several buildings that might be called gothic masterpieces, which will reel in any Harry fan. Plus, Cornell is just one of those schools that feels like Hogwarts -- gorgeous foliage in fall, snowy winters to support long hours of study, a work hard/play hard mentality and lots of school spirit.

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

Kenyon College
Noted for its collegiate gothic architecture and forested setting, Kenyon College tends to attract creative-types. (So if you'd love to be the next J.K. Rowling, this school will offer just the inspiration you need!) Old Kenyon Hall is said to be the oldest gothic building in the United States, while Pierce Hall, where students dine, feels eerily similar to Hogwart's Great Hall.

Colleges for Harry Potter Fans

Yale University
Yale University may be the closest to Hogwarts that a Harry fan can get. You've probably heard of Yale's creepy secret societies (like Skull & Bones, which counted a former President as a member). Sounds like Dumbledore's army, doesn't it? And what about all of the underground passage ways -- one leads from Sterling Library to another library on campus. It all sounds like something dreamt up in Rowling's imagination. As the third largest campus in the U.S., the campus feels like Hogwarts, with its numerous towers, courtyards, arches and just-plain-gorgeous gothic architecture. If that's not enough for Harry fans, enroll in "Christian Theology and Harry Potter," a course offered on campus.

Oxford should be on this list too. One of their halls looks a lot like the Great Hall in Hogwarts. The whole architecture of the uni is a lot like Hogwarts itself.

I would have liked to see the list but it takes too long to download the new window. Has AOL considered just listing them on one page instead of having to open windows all the time.
