Dugan and Kanter swear that any old bed frame can be turned into a textural fantasy with just some drugstore rope and glue. And it's not only for kids' rooms -- the touch of natural fiber would look equally great as an adult-sized version.
Here's What You'll Need:
-An old headboard (tubular metal works best, but anything will do)
-Length of rope
-A standard C-clamp
-Strong adhesive (Dugan and Kanter recommend Gorilla Glue)
1) Measure the area you'll cover with rope and multiply it by four. This will give you the approximate rope length. If in doubt, get more than you think you'll need.
2) Dip the paint brush in adhesive and coat the first 6" of the rope.
3) Wrap the rope around the frame, working in 6" increments until it's covered.
4) Use the clamp to hold the wet pieces in place until dry.
5) Presto! Your new bed is complete!
