My nickname in high school was Sunny. I like KC and the Sunshine Band, sundresses and if my eggs aren't cooked sunny-side-up, I have a bad habit of pushing them around my plate until they're cold. Naturally, then, the newly-released beach ball lampshade from TOBYhouse is right up my alley.

Toby Sanders recycles otherwise landfill-bound beach balls and, using non-toxic resins, repurposes them into bright, bold lighting. He paints the one-of-a-kind lampshades a pure white on the inside so as not to distract from the general awesomeness of the beach ball itself.

I'm amazed at this light fixture and am now re-imagining what every room in my home would (could?) look like with this beauty. Can you smell the ocean breeze yet? I've fallen in love hard, and I don't mind a bit as I sink my toes into the virtual white sand.

I'd place this baby over my dining room table in the summer months, preferably anchored by a few Bertoia chairs and a nice teak table. And an outdoor party? I'd cluster a few of them over brightly-colored tablecloths, much like this crafty hostess did. My gosh, the possibilities are endless (to match my guest list, as I have quite a few friends I'd love to show off my new purchase to!).

What about you? Would you own a beach ball lampshade, and if so, where/how would you use it?
