I called her an hour ago, and she had already downed two cups of coffee. Turns out not only did she not sleep well, but her energy had plummeted mid-morning. And although I have a hard time getting behind Feng Shui, karma, or any of that jazz, color emotion makes sense to me. My girlfriend had committed the cardinal (pun intended) sin: red in the bedroom.
The colors you choose to surround yourself with make a huge difference. While red is energizing and lovely in a kitchen, painting your bedroom walls with a bold shade could be a dangerous move. So what does work in the bedroom?

Lately, I've been verrrry into turquoise, both muted and bright. According to color psychology, turquoise "helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word." A combination of blue and a small amount of yellow, turquoise radiates "the peace, calm and tranquility of blue and the balance and growth of green with the uplifting energy of yellow."Don't believe the color crazies? Something tells me after peeking at the next few bedrooms, you just may change your mind...

Needless to say, I'm going paint-shopping with my girlfriend this afternoon. Top of her wish list? Turquoise.
