When I was younger, I wanted to be Napoleon (as in Bonaparte, not Dynamite). The thought of traveling miles away from home and exploring to your heart's content made me feel like such a tiny particle in the vast galaxy we call our world.

As I got older, I grew more content staying home and living life on my couch with a healthy dose of potato chips and reality TV. Obviously, I need a swift kick in the pants. Perhaps if I infuse a bit of cartography decor into my home, I'd get back the traveling bug? (Be sure to check out Jessica's post for some inspiring map-filled rooms!)

Here's what I'm craving...

IN THE DINING ROOM:
I'd love to collect a few map plates from What On Earth?. Preferably for the countries I've been to, but being that I'm a lazy traveler, I may have to settle for aspiring locations. For a fun party game, let each guest choose their dream location to eat from!
RUNNER-UP: City plates, $190, notNeutral

IN THE OFFICE:
Who doesn't have Paris on their mind? With these cutie folders from Red Envelope, Paris'll be on my desk, too.
RUNNER-UP: Artecnica KnoWhere clock, $22, Velocity Art & Design

IN THE BEDROOM:
Emily Fischer of Haptic Lab creates "soft maps" for anyone wanting a piece of property inside their home. And who knows? With the market these days, the quilt may appreciate more than your home! Kidding... I hope?
RUNNER-UP: Butterfly artwork, $330, Image Surgery

IN THE KITCHEN:
A Bombus bowl made from a map of my choice? What a lovely hostess gift [a hint to my future out-of-state guests!].
RUNNER-UP: London Map tea towel, $13, To Dry For

IN THE LIVING ROOM:
I'd like to fashion a DIY from this product prototype by Ron Arad. Amazing, isn't it?
RUNNER-UP: Burnt Paper artwork, contact for pricing, Kate MccGwire

With a few travel-inspired accents in every room, I have a feeling I won't be sitting on my couch for long! Now... where's that passport?
