President Barack Obama's much-buzzed-about vacation home in Martha's Vineyard has been carefully kept under wraps--until now.

Video from Plum TV shows the first images of the 28-acre Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark, where the first family will stay during the last week of August. The farm includes the main house, guest house, boat house, basketball court and putting green. The Obamas paid to rent the estate (at an estimated price of $35,000-$50,000) with
their own money. The home's owners, a Mississippi couple who
bought the property in 2005 for a staggering $20 million, are
McCain supporters. A group of White House advisers and a contingent from the Secret Service will round out the vacationers.

ReplyI think it is so sad that, because he has "president" attached, that even with "his own" money, spending THAT much for vacationing is wrong. Ther are millions who can't even put food on the table for their children. Oh, and that health care bill really stinks
Replywhy is there so much hatred in the world. here we are discussing why the President of the United States is taking a vacation. Well, lets see President Bush took many vacations. I can tell you that he took them all on the tax payers dime. Lets face it all of this hatred is from having an African American as President. We all bleed the same. Obama loves this country just like the rest of us. Did we forget that he mom was a white lady. Do you honestly believe that he is a racist? I think that we should all take a step back and look in the mirror at ourselves. We have come a long way but we sure as hell have a long way to go. I am a white female that believes that he has all of our best interest at heart. We don't talk about the billions we have spent in Iraq and who did that "Bush" . Obama is just trying to get things better than what Bush left. Damn give the Presient a chance. He inherited this situation. You gave Bush 8 yrs to mess things up. You haven't even given him the first year. This isn't something that can be fixed over night and our President has said that many times. You people who speak ugly about the President are just a bunch of racist and you know it. I bet you would not come out to say these things in the face of a black person. This way you can hide behind your emails. But, if you were asked if you were racist the first thing you would say is no, I have black friends. Yeah you may have a black friend or two but that does not mean that you are not racist. Wether you like it or not. He is our President and he is going to be here for the next 4 years and hopefully the next 8. So, deal with it and suck it up. If a white man was in office all of this hatred would not be going on. I am praying for all you who have this hate in your heart. Maybe the next time you need something and a black person stops to help you. Maybe you will think twice. Everything doesn't have to be about race. Just let the man do his job.

ReplyThe headlines seem to be misleading. The place is being rented for a short time for a vacation. This included taking family and secret service men. Long and happy life to the Obamas. BTW, people seem quite mixed up. I sae hm called a socialist and a fascist in the same letters.. He is a great president. His many hopes cannot be realized immediately.

Okay, Mr. G.W. Bush used 8 years to get us in this mess and now Presient Obama should be able to change everything in just 7 months??? Somehow that doesn't seem fair and it's certainly unbalanced!! ReplyI want equal treatment, thus, I want everyone in the Congress and Senate to have the same health plan as the American people. This is not about rich and poor. This is not about race or gender. The wealthy 1% pay 50%+ of the entire tax bill. We should applaud them, and not be negative. I did not vote for Obama, however, he needs a vacation. He looks like he has aged 5-10 years since taking office. There is no free lunch and we deserve to hear the truth. Our taxes will go up to cover the cost. Bush lied and so has Obama. We need to clean house in Washington. 500 million for new planes is crap. No State or Federal taxes for the balance of the year. Eliminate gas taxes for 6 months. Help the people and quit talking about it, and give us a real break.
