With a heightened awareness for toxic household cleaners, many consumers are being encouraged to make increasingly health conscious decisions for their family, including those four-legged creatures that love to nap on your hardwood floors (and that we love to shop for!). I recently made the switch to a non-toxic, pet-friendly floor cleaner, but the price tag is almost unbearable. On a mission, I promised myself I could find a quick, easy solution that won't break the bank. Behold, the 'Make Any Floor In Your Home Pet-Friendly' Guide. Ready?

FOR CARPETS:
Mix 1/2 tsp pure castille soap with 2 cups of water. Keep in a spray bottle for handy use, and always spot-test prior to use to prevent discoloration.

FOR HARDWOOD FLOORS:
Mix 2 cups of vinegar with 2 cups of water and add a few drops of natural lemon oil.

FOR CONCRETE SURFACES:
Mix 1/4 cup baking soda with 1/2 cup white vinegar and dilute with water as needed.

FOR VINYL/ LINOLEUM TILES:
To polish vinyl flooring, mix 2 cups of water with 2 cups of white vinegar and add a capful of baby oil.

Use the above system and your floors will be so clean (and safe!) you could eat off them. Fido never had it so good!
