Never in my wildest dreams did I think anyone could pull off a modern, lofted beach bungalow. It seemed unattainable and wayyyy out of the question, sort of like eating a tub of ice cream in the dead of winter. For breakfast. After working out.

Yet when interior designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz collaborates with architect Brian Boyle, funny things happen and the world takes notice. More specifically, LoftLife takes notice and profiles the dynamic duo's work.

My favorite thing about this Hamptons hideaway is the stark contrast between the interior and exterior. With lush organic grounds, you would expect the inside of the loft to reflect a more eco-centric approach. Yet upon entering, you're greeted with stark white modern -- a surprise that guides you through the rest of the space. Although there is little plant life indoors, the bright, open windows create harmony between the inside and out, giving the space warmth and energy.

Proof that ice cream for breakfast may not be nearly as horrid as I had thought. And where better to eat ice cream than the top ten U.S. beach homes...Holy moly! These houses are gorgeous!
