Ralph Lauren's Island Retreat Sheets

When I opened up Elle Decor's July/August issue I did a double-take when I came across these adorable sheets. The new Lauren Spa bedding from Ralph Lauren's 'Island Retreat' collection bears a striking resemblance to a set of Ralph Lauren sheets I have from the mid-90s.

Back when I was in high school I became enamored with the sheets of one of the families I babysat. Somehow, I managed to show these sheets to my mother (maybe on a trip to Macy's?) and she got them for me for my birthday. My more than a decade old Ralph sheets are very near to death's door with many small holes along the seams, so I'm almost tempted to take the plunge and buy these new ones.

There's something about the preppy meets Far East vibe that really strikes my fancy. A quick look at ralphlauren.com revealed that the line is already on sale, but they're still pretty pricey with the line ranging from $25 to $195. Even if I don't buy them, I'm tickled to realize that my tastes haven't changed that much since I was a teen.
