Have you ever looked at something from afar and it was one thing but as you got closer, it became something completely different? That's what
Cassandra C. Jones' wallpaper is all about. She uses found photographs to create beautiful patterns that look like abstract patterns from afar, but upon closer inspection, you can see each individual person or animal repeating to create the whole.
Cassandra notes the duality of each wallpaper subject. For example, see the gallery above. On the left, cheerleaders are simultaneously innocent and provocative. On the right, flamingos are both real creatures and pink plastic novelties.
These installations remind me of wallpaper with double meaning. Let's look at a few, shall we?
