ShelterPop's love of melamine may be old news. What's new is our love of La Plates, a company that lets you design your own melamine dishware (and accessories). So far, La Plates has produced more than 10,000 dishes, according to founder Lara Hazelett Shelton, a former teacher. These are perfect for clumsy kids (and, let's face it, clumsy adults), as well as outdoor dining and even just elevating a meal of warmed-over pizza.
Up for grabs is a set of eight identical customized 10" melamine plates. Produced in the U.S.A, these plates are BPA-free and dishwasher safe. Choose your design from more than 20 patterns, including your choice of font, monogram or name. We'll contact the winner by e-mail and put him/her in touch with La Plates to coordinate the design and delivery. La Plates will produce the plates in the standard production time of 10-15 business days once it receives the custom order from the winner.
Dress up your melamine with a monogram and a charger and it's fit for any dinner party! Photo: La Plates
If you don't win, don't despair. La Plates is now offering all ShelterPop readers a 10% discount on plates, platters and placemats through Wednesday, Aug. 26. Just enter code SP10 at checkout.
