make a poufYou can make a pouf just like this and save hundreds of dollars! Photos: Apartment Therapy

I am a huge fan of poufs because of their versatility. Use them as an ottoman, extra seating, a headrest when you lay on the floor, perhaps a dog bed for your tiny pup or even a table when you top them with a tray. Phew! So many uses!

However, some of my favorite poufs are a little out of my price range...like John Derian's $265 Moroccan Pouf or this IKAT one for $2,100. Apartment Therapy found a great little tutorial from Pickles on how to make your very own knitted pouf, just like this one from DWR that costs $800!

This project should be easy enough for beginner knitters, so long as you pay close attention to your stitches!

Here's what you'll need:

- 18 balls of yarn suitable enough for at least #13 needles
- US #19 circular knitting needles
- Stuffing (Pickles recommends 2 cheap twin-size duvets)

Click here for the instructions. Happy knitting!

This pouf was so popular Pickles decided to offer a small pouf pattern, too!
