Rumors have been flying that
Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby
Matthew Broderick are planning to move to Brooklyn. I won't believe it until I see it, but if the day should ever come, SJP and Matt would be welcome neighbors. The couple has always struck me as the kind of laid-back cool that defines downtown chic. And since Brooklyn is essentially the new downtown, what better place for this hip couple to move?
Back in 2006,
Elle Decor ran some great gallery of Sarah Jessica Parker's Hamptons beach house (
Elle Decoration in the UK also ran the film). I clipped the pages and saved them because not only was SJP's apartment stylish, it was filled with affordable ideas I actually thought I could recreate at home. Case in point: This adorable guest bedroom. Here's a quick recipe for dressing a room with a similar look.
In the meantime, we'll cross our fingers that this Hollywood couple decides to decamp to Brooklyn and share some of their amazing decorating style with our outer borough.

I saved this issue, too. Loved her house. Thanks for breaking down this room. So great!
