Last year, when I first spotted some incredible leather-bound bibles by Rock of Ages Press, I was smitten. I mean, the King James in bright turquoise or hot pink? Or even silver or python skin? What's not to love? (There's even a surfer version with a tiny gold-embossed palm tree on the cover -- so chic!)

So I was ultra excited to see an expanded range yesterday at the New York International Gift Show for worshipers of other faiths. The Haggadah, a text used during Passover Seder got a makeover in colors like the lavender and lapiz blue shown right (turquoise and pewter are also available). The cloth-bound books also feature gorgeous details like patterned endpapers and gold foil stamped covers. Who can resist?

Equally beautiful is a book of Indian poetry, Fireflies. The early 20th-century book by Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore also got the Rock of Ages treatment with black-and-white illustrations throughout and a swirly font decorating the cover. It's so pretty it deserves a spot alongside illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages.

And if that wasn't enough, the company also makes journals like the Guadalupe and the Lakshmi celebrating those cultural icons.
Now, I just can't wait for someone to make a pretty Phone Book. Yellow Pages, are you listening?
