The Gothenburg-based clothing label Elvine and the Scandic Malmen Hotel have just launched their new hotel concept, the "Creators Inn" in Stockholm. The best part? You can spend the night for free. Yes, that's right -- If you happen to be a DJ, writer, artist, designer or other creator, your short-term stay is on the house!

The impetus behind this was to help promote the local area and give something back to traveling artisans whose presence contributes to a more interesting city. "Beside the joy and gratefulness you get from the creators when you offer them free accommodation, their presence make Gothenburg a more interesting city," says Jesper Larsson, CEO of design agency Next Century Modern, So it's results in a win-win situation.

The Scandic Malmen Hotel, which houses the hotel-within-a-hotel rooms of the "Creators Inn," is located in the heart of the city, right within reach of culture and shopping. It's perfect for artsy types since it's within walking distance of some of Stockholm's best live venues – Mosebacke, Södra Teatern and Debaser. SoFo, the district in which the hotel sits, has trendy boutiques ranging from high-end fashion to design and vintage home furnishings.

They started out by asking their online community what kind of room would appeal to traveling artists and designers: what did they need, what kind of designs could set them apart from other rooms? The comments seemed to stress the importance of socialization and necessity rather than luxury. The result? A simple, functional design with a modern touch.

To reserve a room, you must be in the business of creativity. Click here for registration details and maybe your chance to stay at the creative Creators Inn.
