The cover of Design House Stockholm's catalog reads, "Scandinavia Today." Well, if this is what Scandinavia looks like, we're ready to pack our bags tomorrow. Design House Stockholm consistently shows gorgeous products at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), but this year they really knocked it out of the park. The 17-year old company has expanded their furniture line, and I, personally, am going to start saving my pennies for the new pieces-these are destined to be collector's items someday.

Family Chairs by Lina Nordqvist Photo: Design House Stockholm

One of my favorite products from the whole gift show was Design House Stockholm's new Family Chairs by designer Lina Nordqvist (I'm not the only one who noticed these beauties, the Accent on Design Award judges and The New York Times have also praised these stunning seats.) Nordqvist's "family" of chairs are a contemporary twist on the traditional Swedish stickback chair. Crafted from birch wood and available in black lacquer and natural wood, these chairs would look great in either a contemporary or traditional setting.

Another piece in the new range of furnishings is the Twist Table by Philip Edis. The tiers on this sleek side table all rotate, making the piece both space-saving and versatile. Edis says the shape was inspired by a clown spinning several hula hoops-neat, hunh?

Both The MoMA Design Store and Property carry the Family Chairs and the Twist Table.

Arrow by Gustav Hallen and Lava by Louise Hederstrom. Photo: Design House Stockholm

Two smaller (and more affordable) items on view at the Design House Stockholm booth were the Arrow hook by Gustave Hallen and the Lava candlestick holders by Louise Hederstrom. Arrow is a powder-coated aluminum wall hook that opens and retracts to hang various items (available in five colors). Hans Hjrlmqvist, from the Design House Stockholm booth, told me that it could even support a bicycle, if properly mounted! The Lava comes as a set of three bone china candle holders. The shape of the holders mimics the natural shapes formed by dripping wax. Plus, the three pieces neatly stack on top of one another for easy storage.

Are you digging the Scandinavian vibe?

Allison included a piece from Creative Danes, in her five favorite items from NYIGF. Read her full post here.

Plus, back in July, Erin posted an amazing house tour of a Swedish home.
