Sometimes while editors wander through the endless aisles at market events like last week's New York International Gift Fair, something catches one's eye for the wrong reason: we've seen it before. From a different company.

It's almost impossible to get to the bottom of who copied who, or whether great minds really do just design alike. What do you think? Are these items too close for comfort, or just another example of the depth of home decor?

Having covered the New York Gift Show for years - this is inevitable and it's up to stores to decide whether they are going to sell the orginals or the cheaper knock-off's. I don't agree with it and have seen endless variations over the years but it's part of the industry and many other industries. It keeps everyone on their toes, developing new products and "thinking out side the box." - NenaghGal - http://nenaghgal.blogspot.com
