This simple nook designed by Stephen Shubel featured in House Beautiful's January 2009 issue shows how an empty corner of a room transforms into an inspiring and interesting space. At first glance, none of these furnishings connect with each other in style or period. What I have more fun imagining is that this might have been created by a fun weekend trip filled with garage sales and wonderful flea market finds. The key to making this nook cohesive is the common color tones – bone, black, grays and whites. Follow this simple idea, and create your own corner or get this look for less.
