Love the colorful, laid back vibe of Mamma Mia? Design*Sponge tells you how to get it. Photo: Design*Sponge

There's a reason that the interiors of movies and TV shows are so dreamy--they're fake. And created by genius set designers. But that doesn't mean that, with a little help, you can't create a decent approximation of Marsha Brady's bedroom or Scarlett O'Hara's parlor. After all, don't you work in an exact replica of The Office all day?

I'm a longtime fan of CasaSugar's great tips on coopting movie interiors. (Catch up with the extremely well-done primers on The Time Traveler's Wife, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Gossip Girl.)

So I'm overjoyed that Design Sponge has launched a new weekly post called "Living In..." So far it has skillfully dissected Out of Africa, Mamma Mia, Little Women and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Will writer Amy Merrick heed my call to do Dr. Strangelove's war room next? Time will tell.
