Last week we asked readers what they'd like to eat off of the melamine plates we were giving away. And a funny thing happened--people from across the country had very similar cravings! As a public service, I tracked down recipes from my very favorite cooking site, Smitten Kitchen, to help you channel your inner Julia (or Julie!).
For the cheesecake camp (there were cravings for blueberry, chocolate and turtle), try this Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake. For those with a hankering for pie, look no further than this Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. Or, fine, fine, these itty-bitty Key Lime Tarts.
Sweets are nice, but sometimes you really need a good piece of meat. More than one person requested fish tacos. They should be pleased with these authentic Mexican Tilapia Tacos. Others will surely enjoy these Steak Sandwiches. And for those few who, strangely, craved shrimp, here's a Grilled Shrimp Cocktail.
Is it dinner time yet? No? Not even close? Crud.
