Winning an award takes preparation, devotion and, well, talent. Husband-and-wife architect duo Erik and Marieanne-Khoury Vogt honed all three of these characteristics in their recent Florida design, which took home the title of
Southern Living's Best Outdoor Space this year. With immaculate planning and four eyes focused on every detail, the pair created a dream rooftop deck worthy of top honors.

The 1,100 square-foot deck is accented with a striking pergola, which has been lined with Bougainvilleas. Over the years, the vines will grow to create a canopy of greenery throughout the pergola, eventually spreading into the courtyard below. Not that the courtyard will be used for entertaining, of course, as the rooftop deck boasts a luxurious kitchen unit, complete with a dishwasher for pesky clean-up duties.

In case you're wondering what sort of entertaining this Florida deck provides, look no further. A beautifully landscaped pool and lounge area completes the exterior space. With no detail left unimagined, underfoot lies Dominican shellstone straight from the Caribbean.
