Country Living Blue and White Bedroom

Crisp and bright in blue and white -- We love this room. Photo: Country Living

The minute I saw this blue and white bedroom in Country Living's 'Bedroom Designs' photo gallery, I was ready to move right in (to see it on CL's site, you'll need to click through the gallery until slide 19 of 70.) The subtly nautical style is a perfect choice for a beach house guest room -- or for a city dweller dreaming of ocean breezes. To get the look, start with crisp, white walls, ceiling and trim, and then accessorize in a limited palette of blue, white, black and wood tones. Here are several copy cat furniture pieces and accessories for your own home:

Design Within Reach chair

Clean lines and a basic shape make this humble seat an enduring design. Photo: Design Within Reach

Designed with classic, Shaker style in mind, this sturdy beachwood chair is a great alternative to an antique find. (Salt Chair, $98, Design Within Reach)

Pottery Barn sheets

Sweet dreams are almost guaranteed with these 100 percent cotton sheets. Photo: Pottery Barn

A paler shade of blue, these Pottery Barn sheets offer a similar look in a less saturated hue. (PB Classic Stripe 400-Thread-Count Duvet Cover & Sham - Porcelain Blue, $39 to $149, Pottery Barn)
Dash & Albert rug

The price is right for these cheap-chic cotton rugs. Photo: Dash & Albert

Stripes are an affordable option underfoot with Dash & Albert's flat weave, cotton rugs. (Blue Awning Stripe Cotton Woven Rug, $28 to $335, Dash & Albert)

Smith & Noble shades

Flat bamboo shades offer practical, timeless style that sill look great with any interior should you decide to redecorate at a later time. (Natural Woven Flat Fold Shades - in Bamboo, prices vary, Smith & Noble)
Maine Cottage bed

To recreate the look of the perfect bed frame in the CL shot, find yourself a vintage spindle bed and paint it with high-gloss blue paint. For a lazier option, buy a ready-made decoy from Main Cottage. (Lizzie Bed, $1,990 to $2,790, Maine Cottage)
