I've long admired Jean-Louis Domecq's 1950 design, the Signal S1333 lamp. The enameled steel task lamp has always eluded me because of its high $450 price tag -- I didn't even spend that much on my sofa, let alone a single lamp. Imagine my delight when I came across PBTeen's Hi-Light Task Lamp, which is a near-twin to the Signal. While Jean-Louis might have been a little peeved at the obvious knock-off, this budget-conscious gal is happy to have a more affordable version of his classic design.
Like the original Signal lamp, the Hi-Light lamp comes in a range of colors (red and yellow being two of my personal favorites), and PBTeen offers this lamp in 10 fun colors.

I purchased 2 of the Pottery Barn task lamps about 6 months ago at the local PB outlet store and paid $5.00 each. What a deal, they are great lamps and I highly recommend them! :)
