It's a shame when polls like this ask shoppers about their opinions of "cool" designs, especially during a serious recession. I am a designer and the only thing "cool" about most of these choices is the price. Otherwise they're pretty crappy and many are really bad for the environment.

Oh I just love Paper Source! They have such cute stationary and office/school supplies! This is a nice collection of all the design items across the board for both price and look.

I would also mention Anthropoligie, SortingwithStyle.com, and Galison.

Theyre expensive but the best designed couches are love sacs. they arnt known as much for their couches as their bean bags but the couches can be made into any shape and are very useful. i looked for furniture in local stores but once uve seen the uses of these love sactionals nothing else compared. and they are guarenteed for life. also at the stores the managers and workers will throw in a lot of free stuff because they know how hard it is to pay for their furniture. i bought 5 bases and 8 sides for about 3000 and they threw in a 600 dollar love sac with a cover and free pillows and free shipping.
