I guess the old adage is true: When one door closes, another one opens up. And ever since Condé Nast shuttered the door on our beloved Domino magazine, home design junkies everywhere have been anxiously waiting to see which talented alum would pop up behind door number two to give new life to the content that we loved so much. Well, wait no longer. On October 1, former Domino market editor and founder of Rubie Green, Michelle Adams, and her business partner, photographer Patrick Cline, are launching an online-only home design magazine, Lonny.

The duo, who met at a Domino photo shoot in 2007, are turning out their first issue with the help of close friends -- writer Shawn Gauthier, artist Caitlin McGauley who designed custom watercolor illustrations for the magazine and graphic designer Michelle Roque. They've also tapped design aficionados like Carolina Irving, Eddie Ross, Kate Townsend-Simpson and Deborah Needleman for the features.

"Our online format allows us to share as many gallery as we'd like, so most features average around 20 pages," Adams says, "and each photo can be zoomed in on to REALLY take a peek into these people's homes." What's more, the products throughout the magazine are hyperlinked to take readers straight to manufacturers websites to purchase them. Love that chandelier in Kate Townsend's dining room? Just click on the image and go straight to a website to buy it.

Now if only someone could think up a way to bring Blueprint back.
