Jane Seymour's New Mattress Line
Categories: Celebs
Dr. Quinn, Mattress Woman? Actress Jane Seymour took another step on Monday toward becoming a Martha-like force in the home furnishings industry when she unveiled her new collection of mattresses and memory foam pillows, a partnership with South Bay International. On Tuesday, she'll show off her new line from Caple Rugs in Las Vegas.
Seymour, 58, wowed younger passers-by as she posed on her products at the Las Vegas Market, a biannual product showcase. But South Bay representatives were quick to point out that Seymour is an important collaborator -- not just a spokeswoman.
South Bay project manager Dani Serven said her company was approached by Seymour's representatives about a branded line about six months ago and that Seymour was in the factory the next week choosing materials. Seymour is responsible for the names of the mattresses --"Tuscan Dreams," "Ocean Serenity" and "Whispering Winds" -- as well as the coloring and ticking, including the use of bamboo. The mattresses are marked with Seymour's repeated "JS" monogram, recreated from brush strokes on one of her paintings.
Seymour said her entire family has switched to the mattresses. "I wouldn't attach my name to them if they weren't really comfortable," she said. Seymour revealed that she sleeps on the Jane Seymour Designs Tuscan Dreams Memory Foam and Latex Mattress by South Bay International. It's the firmest of the three and -- based on a quick test flop -- quite comfy.
Distributors were able to place orders for the first time on Monday, so Jane Seymour bedding could be available at local retailers in 4 to 6 weeks. Queen sizes will range from $999 to $1,999.
The growing Jane Seymour Designs empire also includes partnerships with Caple Rugs, Badash Crystal, Corsican metal furniture, Firefly Home Collection, Napa Home & Garden, Picture Source, Shady Lady Lighting and Winward Silks florals. According to her representatives, Seymour will soon announce six more licensing partnerships.

I would test out ANY mattress with Jane Seymour! Even at age 92, she's smokin' hot.
