The Montauk beach house that convicted swindler Bernie Madoff and his wife Ruth kept for more than 20 years before it was seized and put on the market by federal authorities has been sold. Realtors Joan and Raymond Hegner told ABC News that the home was bought for more than the asking price of $8.75 million and paid for in cash. The name of the buyer has not been released.

Bidding on the 4-bedroom, 3-bath home was said to be "fast and furious." Between five and 10 sealed offers were submitted and U.S. Marshals chose the winning bid, according to Fortune. Compared to Madoff's other properties, the Montauk home is understated. It is, however, just 150 feet from the beach. Neighbors include Ralph Lauren and Robert DeNiro. Proceeds from the sale will go toward repaying Madoff's victims.

Paid for it in cash?? Nothing suspicious here (Ha! Ha!). Bet you 2:1 that it was bought by a non-citizen.

It's well known Bernie is dying of cancer and arranged for his sons to look like they threw him under the bus. This gets them as well as the wife off the hook and they are still worth millions and millions. This was Bernie's biggest and best scam!!!!!!!!
