To say that I love Anthropologie would be an understatement – I adore the brand: I like walking through the store and seeing the new displays each season, I covet the clothing and I drool over their home goods. I'll even admit that I frequently find myself photographing their windows for "inspiration."
A friend of mine has worked for Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie for years, and she recently revealed that the company has a new lifestyle brand in the works. The new concept is called Terrain at Styer's. Terrain sells the usual mix of beautiful housewares you might find at Anthro plus lots of garden-related items; it is the first of the company's stores that does not sell clothing). The shop itself is set in an antique greenhouse on an 11-acre site in Concordville, PA, just outside of Philadelphia.

The store portion of Terrain is a small piece of a larger picture. Terrain is situated at Styer's, a more than hundred year-old nursery, which operates a chemical-free plant nursery today. Styer's also offers a full range of residential landscape services. Terrain hosts in-store events and classes on things like seed saving and wreath-making. There is even a café serving things like artichoke, white bean and arugula salad and a "farmhouse" frittata.
I can't wait to pay a visit to Terrain at Styer's the next time I am in PA. In the meantime, my friend says that Terrain will be launching e-commerce this fall-we'll keep you posted.
Bonus: Check out this Flickr stream of gallery of Terrain at Styer's – it is so pretty!

This store has been open for almost two years now!
ReplyHow nice to see this pop up. I moved to st.petersburg,fl. two years ago & it was nice to see a landmark I visited all my life up there.
ReplyMy father would take me & my little brother there quite often. Presents for my father were always another color of rose bush for
his rose garden. My father & little brother are both deceased & it sure is nostalgic to see it again. Thank you.
