Billy Joel and his third wife, Katie Lee Joel, announced that they were divorcing in June 2009, so it's not surprising that they have put their side-by-side beachfront estates in the Hamptons on the market. According to preposterously well-informed scouts at The Real Estalker, Joel is trying to unload the two homes for $22.5 million and $12.5 million--a lot more than the $28 million and change he paid for both in 2007. (Though he did pay in cash...gulp.)

Maybe Billy should get someone his own age, then
    possibly his marriage would last.

With all of the money he still has, a little cosmetic surgery would do wonders on him; God knows he can use it with a good exercise program to get in shape.

  • hotlanta123

I just don't get it.....It's got to be the money, how is it these guys get goodlooking women like that.... I waited on him years ago while working at a fine hotel....not only does he look horrible but he's a jerk too...

  • frontsupv

    What do you expect?

A gold digger marries a horny old many looking for a piece of ass, and the results are always the same

  • Amanda

duh! Billy Joel is a fantastic artist and makes amazing music. Im only 19 and i am a huge fan. Who cares how he looks. Everyone acts like its okay for regular joes to start aging but once a star starts to age everyone talks about how horrible they look. Put yourself in his situation and all the stress he deals with because of his fame and see how fast you age.....btw he doesnt look THAT bad for his age okay!

The saddest part of ALL these stories is with all the money to buy all the women they want, they still end up alone until they are on their death beds and marry the closest thing to them and that person gets it all. But the monied person never knows true love (some of them, anyway). They never learn~they are hard to take, at times.Have miserable life styles.Joel cheated.on Christie. It never ends with these guys.

I know these houses are worth a lot of money, but I would hate to live in either of them. Too much white. There is nothing warm and inviting about either of them. Just cold, stark white walls and floors. Guess that's why I don't live in a million dollar house. No taste!

I know what you mean. That stark, minimalist look is not for me either. It's cold and uninviting. But that's what all the designers are currently doing. I'm waiting for the day they go back to colors, varied fabric textures and scads of accessories...so the rooms look like someone actually LIVES in them.

ANY old guy who marries a young chick, HAS TO KNOW its not for his saggins skin or bald head. She wants the moneeeeey... SHOW ME THE MOOOOONNNNNEEEEEYYYYY. Men never learn. Their ego gets in the way. Same with cougers. They got to know the young dude is daydreaming of someone else while he is performing his duties for a fee. Cant be that strupid. A man will always chose a younger woman over an older one. Thats just a fact of life. If you know this, you dont put yourself in harms way.

    Arty:

You are proclaiming that you speak for all men.

There are those who keep themselves in shape (both men and women), and you cannot necessarily say that their lovers are thinking of someone younger.

According to your theory, you would turn down a Halle Berry or Demi Moore for any other younger woman, no matter what she looks like -- simply because she is young.

I would love to test your theory.

I would also venture a guess that all Demi Moore or Halle Berry would have to do is look your way, and you would be drooling all over them.

Sounds like someone gets rejected a lot.

You keep on typing your pathetic theories - ALONE.

These women do not care about your armchair theories. Get a life and hit the gym.

When a woman marries, she should pick a guy who loves her with all his heart, he will do anything for her well being. He will stick around in good times and bad, and help you thru all hurdles. If she picks a dude she is obsessed about, she will only get hard kicks and a total gut wrenching heartbreak. So, dont go there, learn to say no. When a man marries, he should marry a woman who is honorable, chaste, respectable, intelligent and kind. If he picks a slut from the bar, or a girl much younger, he will be the loser, i guarantee that. So chose wiseley as a life partner. You can play games before you get married, but when it comes to marriage and raising children chose wisely.

They always mistreat / betray the woman who is best for them, and end up losing them. For what? Regrets come much too late. Stupid male ego.
