I don't know if it's my obsession with all things tufted or my inherent attraction to neutral palettes in lush textures like velvet and silk, but the minute I saw the debut collection of Los Angeles designer Reagan Hayes, I was in love!

I had to give Reagan a ring and pick her brain about how the line came to be, which piece is her favorite and what items in her own home inspire her to get out and do what she does best. Here's what she had to say (along with a few pics she snapped around her house).

Tell me a little bit about the process of designing a furniture line. How did it start for you?
I had many clients who wanted quality furniture with high-end styling, who couldn't really afford the high end lines. I worked for 6 months on the actual designs and then I went looking for someone to make it. I ended up finding this unbelievable manufacturer and really developed the confidence from that point to go ahead with creating my own boutique line.

What is your favorite piece?
It changes, but right now it's the Wendy. That one really just blew me away in person. It was one of the last pieces we developed and it really exceeded my expectations.

A girl after my own tufting-obsessed heart! What five items can you not live without at home?
I like to be able to change things up, I'm a little fickle in that way. But I do love white blankets, smells -- I have candles stashed everywhere -- a Juliska bud vase that my mom gave me that lives on my night stand, pictures of my son and family and I'm a sucker for sunburst mirrors!

See some of Reagan's favorite items at home below.
