Rupert Grint is no Harry Potter, but he might just be the wizard of real estate. The 21-year-old, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter flicks, has racked up quite an impressive property investment portfolio. According to The Daily Mail, Grint owns £9.2 million (over $14 million) worth of property mortgage-free! Grint's co-star, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), has property worth an estimated £7 million, and co-star Emma Watson (Hermione) has property worth £4 million. It's nice to see younger actors planning and investing wisely in their future. Let's face it -- who knows how long Rupert can ride the Harry Potter gravy train?

So how did he spend his £9.2 million? Grint purchased a 22-acre 18th-century Hertfordshire manor house for £5.4 million in September. The home features two cottages and six bedroom suites. He can definitely throw some killer parties in this house!

Previously, Grint was living with his family (parents, brother and three sisters) in another home in Hertfordshire, which Grint also owns. He purchased the house back in 2006 for £3.35 million. Grint bought another detached home with his father in April 2008 and received a permit for expansion.

Grint isn't the only one in the family in the real estate game. His parents also own a few large properties. In June 2003 they purchased a £975,000 house and in the same year bought a farmhouse nearby for £2 million.

this is pretty cool. =) if Rupert Grint can still look like he's 17, more power to him. The other Potter actors are getting up there in age, and they still sign for it. They know that if they switch and say no to Potter this late in the amazing series, many fans will be pissed at the switch, because no other actors (actresses) can replace them. Once the 7th movies are out, they can stop. Obviously... xD Rupert, you have amazing houses.

Are those just delivery vans out back, or is one of them Rupert's famous ice cream truck?

Ah, Rupert and all those other actors worldwide. Memorize a line here, a soliloquy there, stand in front of the cameras for a few months to a year and POOF! Instant millionaire. Talk about unearned income. :-)

What's that taste? Is that, mmm, bitter?

I just had to respond to this. Sorry, but what you said was one of the most idiotic things someone could say. "Unearned income"? Are you sure about that?
Unless you're saying that it's unfair that some celebrities don't deserve the massive amount of money they make (which in some cases, I agree). :)

    your an idiot

    hmmmmm...sour grapes???

malaluken, you have clearly never acted. Being a skilled actor is so much more than memorization, and if you're doing it right it takes a lot of focus. We are a greatly under-appreciated bunch, since everyone seems to think it takes so little work.

While I agree that the salaries of movie actors are ridiculous - stage actors can hardly afford an apartment - I think we should give credit where credit is due. I personally think Rupert is by far the best young actor in the series. And while he did buy an ice cream truck of all things with his money, I think it's nice that he also bought a home for his family. So many people wouldn't even think to do that with such a high salary.

I think it is great that people do so well when they become stars.
I have one question. How do they stay green for our world for there childrens world with so many homes for one person. The energy and water to run so many large estates must be great.

It may sound like unearned income to some but at least he has a good head on his shoulders to invest in real estate instead of women, alcohol and drugs like half of hollywood. Sounds liek smart investing to me!

All of that money has been gained at the expense of the hearts, souls and minds of our young people. All that Harry Potter is is a crash course on the occult: an introduction to satan himself. When the young people in my classroom asked me about Harry Potter I told them the truth: it is not good for you in any way. It cost me my job, but on the day of judgement the Lord Jesus Christ will say unto me,"Well done thou good and faithful servant." If there are any people out there that have children or work with them professionally, do the right thing and get that satanic material away from their young impressionable minds for their sanity and soul's wellbeing. We need to turn to Jesus Christ in these desperate ours, not to more darkness and the prince of it.

Geez,Rev...you need a reality check..Whether or not there is a God or Devil,Heaven or Hell..before any of us get there..we need to pay our bills and live our lives. Some better than others.Thats the way of the world.I think all the Potter kids should reap the benifits of their hard work.Acting is work.No matter how good or bad at it one is..it's still work..and hardly the work of the Devil...

    Reverend Reyes,
While I appreciate your loyal commitment to the Lord, I must also ask, what are your specific examples and reasoning for concluding that the Harry Potter films (and I am guessing books as well) are a crash course on the occult?
While I do think that these films represent a multi billion dollar industry that might be seen by some as overrated, I do not understand many people who see it as anti-Christian. I am a very devoted Christian myself, and a huge fan of the Harry Potter series. Reading the books and watching the films did absolutely nothing to compromise my faith.
Have you ever seen or read the series?
There are many themes in the books and movies that stress the battle of good vs. evil, with evil providing much temptation, but good always winning out in the end. Did not Jesus go through periods of temptation, which he overcame? It shows great examples for children on how to treat friends, as well as enemies, despite what temptation or peer pressure might want you to do, just like Jesus advocated befriending your enemies, and forgiving them. The use of "witchcraft" and "wizardry" in these stories aren't the same as the ancient and medieval notions of witchcraft as evil and occult. There is no worship or even mention of satan, yet there is a Christmas celebration.
One thing that is also overarching in my thoughts is that these stories are fiction. They are supposed to be fanciful and entertaining, maybe even inspiring. They all have the struggle of good and evil, like any good fairytale or facts of the Bible. If Harry Potter is such an evil, then I suppose you feel the same way about Lord of the Rings, or Cinderella (fairy godmother)?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just wanted to express mine and ask out of curiosity's sake where you opinions originate. I will happily give more instances to support my thoughts and I welcome any discussion you may have on the subject. I only simply want to learn more about opinions I don't understand. Thank you, and God Bless.

By your comments, it appears that you haven't read the books. There is nothing dark or evil about the series. It's a fantasy about good vs evil (is Star Wars satanic?) and loyalty and doing what you think is right - regardless of what others are saying. For me and my child, these are excellent values to teach.

There is NO SATAN or JC in the practice of the religion known as WICCA. In fact WICCA is an older religion than christianity. And in addtion many of the medicines we have today are based on the principles of using nature to heal our bodies.

dude, just how far right wing are you... like has been said already where are the occult relatings here.. i dont believe you have even read the books or seen the movies.. do you even have children for that matter.. glad your faith is strong but dude.. your a little bit extreme..

  • DB

I'm a Christian. I play in the band at my church. I love God. But I really enjoy the Harry Potter movies. I know it's fiction, just like superheroes and vampires, of which i also enjoy watching. They explore the imagination and think outside the box. They are fun movies. The truth is though, some people practice witchcraft, but these movies are not serious and are simply fun for kids and adults alike.

Also, judging others is God's job, not yours. But you would know that so called "Rev."

  • knk6

Wow, you need to pull your head out. I am a practicing Christian and believe very strongly in my religion. You are just babling without even knowing what you are talking about. First of all the word "occult" doesn't mean satanic or devilish in any manner. It's original meaning is secret or concealed you close-minded fool. Why don't you take a look at your life and faith and discern if you are pointing out the splinter in someone elses eye while missing the woodden beam in your own. Get your facts straight and stop trying to justify your relationship with God by ranting on the internet. Someone with a real relationship with the lord wouldn't need such childish tacticts. In my opinion the children of this nation are better off without teachers such as yourself whose views on the world are so narrow and skewed that they use words that they don't even know the meaning too.

EGads....get a grip!!!!! Take your bible and find a corner and stay there. YIKES! You know, I am a christian, I don't feel that I should put others down for what they enjoy to watch or read and if you ever took the time to read Harry Potter books you would know that it is the age old story of good over evil. Evil loses every time. So like I said. Get a grip!!!
