As first reported on Real Estalker, her 1927 West Orange, New Jersey digs measure in at 9,486 square feet and include eight bedrooms and six full bathrooms with a total of 23 rooms total. Interior amenities include a paneled billiard room, fitness room and media room, with an impressive exterior that boasts lush gardens, expansive lawns and a swimming pool. Of course, no historic home is complete without a carriage house, greenhouse and a servant's house -- all found here. The house needs a furniture face lift, but otherwise it's pretty gorgeous.
A downsize? Never! Yet something tells me our favorite "The View" host would disagree. Let's take a tour of Whoopi's "humble home"...
Whoopis New House
This colonial-style home welcomes our former "Sister Act" star with open arms...and massive columns.
How Did Stella Get Her Groove Back? In those lush, green gardens, of course!
Baby blue with a baby grand? Hopefully, she changes out the decor. Still, how about those magnificent windows and the view?
Wow. A beautiful kitchen for the star who once proclaimed her hatred for veggies.
Something tells me Whoopi won't be dining in this dining room until it gets a bit of a modern facelift.
The bedroom looks a bit frilly for Goldberg's taste, don't you think?
I sure hope Whoopi likes tiling in her bathroom because this bathroom is a bit overkill.
A parlor fit for a queen. Or, at the very least, The Queen of Comedy.
Does the house come with the wine?
A quaint dining nook for a less-than-quaint home.

This house is beautiful, however, the last picture of the bedroom is kind of creepy looking. Like right out of a horror flick
ReplyBeautiful home, not of fan of the decorator. Of course Im sure she could care less what we think about her house.
Why not use that money to help some struggling negro families, instead of such disgusting extravagance? I thought she and Reverend Wright hated America.
Whoopi,
ReplyGod bless you and anyone who enters your new home. You deserve it!
Beautiful Home!!! Wow, the market must really be soft, because that home is in a exclusive area, and $2.8 mil does not seem that high for such a magnificent property. Enjoy it Whoopi!!!
Replyit's scary lookin.. she should of kept her loft..
Replyit looks more like her... this monster of a house is just
too creepy....should i say Scream ~!
sorry Whoop!
I grew up in West Orange, absolutely love the area and can say, Whoopie, you are now a West Orange Gal!!! Congrats and good luck and happiness in your new home.

You're a lunatic. Sure Whoppi Goldberg is gonna read this post and think "I'll let some crazy lady over".
Great price for home like that, I will see you on route 280

ReplyLOVED THIS HOUSE. BEAUTIFUL. I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING BUT NICK KNACKS IN YELLOW EATING ROOM. THOUGHT IT WAS TASTEFULLY DECORATED AND ELEGANT.
ReplyLOVED THE BABY BLUE ROOM WITH PIANO. REMINDS ME OF A MOVIE I SAW ONCE WITH BARBRA STREISAND.
Manhattan will miss you! I am sure you will be back soon, begging to get out of the burbs!!
ReplyCompared to the prices here, that's a lot of house for the money, and I'm sorry to say I'm not exaggerating.
ReplyI like the kitchen, the breakfast nook, and the dormer bedroom. The rest is just a bunch of overblown, pretentious B.S.
I haven't been able to stomach Whoopi since she made excuses for Michael Vick about dogfighting being a cultural thing. If she's so empathetic to the black culture and wanted to move into NJ, she should have gone to Newark or Paterson. God I can't stand her.
ReplyThe home is absolutely beautiful. Definitely a dream come true. Congratulations!
ReplyJust to remind people or tell those who may not realize when they congratulate her;
ReplyWhoopi is a suporter along with many other Hollywood elites, of Roman Polansky.
The more you know...........:-)
This house would cost a fortune in California. I think Whoopie will
Replyput her special touch . The bathroom and last bedroom have to be redone. Love The View more since Whoopie was hired.
There are some sick people in the world and the people who wrote those rude messages about things that have absolutely nothing to do with this lady's new home ought to be ashamed of themselves, but I'm sure they are not, and I saw that episode of the Veiw when Whoopi talked about Michael Vick and the dogs and she did not at anytime defend what the man did, or try to dismiss his behavior by saying that it was a cultural thing, so stop lying on the lady, and anyway he who is without sin cast the first stone, so you need to just go ahead and put that stone down. Whoopi congragulations on your new home, I hope you and your family are very happy there.
ReplyTHE QUESTION IS WILL WHOOPI SPREAD HER WEALTH? SHE IS A LEFT LEANING SOCIALIST WHO WANTS THE COUNTRY TO MOVE TOWARD SOCIALISM AND REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH FROM THE TOP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM. SO WHOOPI WITH ALL YOUR NEW FOUND WEALTH ARE YOU GOING TO ALLOW IT TO BE SPREAD AROUND? WE WILL BE WATCHING AND WAITING TO SEE WHAT YOU DO WITH YOU WEALTH? IF OTHERS CAN'T KEEP THEIR WEALTH, NEITHER CAN YOU. I HOPE SHE STILL LIKE SOCIALISM AFTER SHE PAYS NEXT YEAR'S TAXES. I AM SURE SHE MAKE OVER 250k. SPREAD IT AROUND WHOOPI OR WE WILL KNOW WHAT TYPE OF LEFTY YOU REALLY ARE.
