Wire-framed lampshades? We love 'em. Photo: Skona Hem
Take this image I spotted on Skona Hem of wire lampshades, for example. Are you kidding me? Something so simple, but yet so unexpected? I can't wait to search for vintage lamp frames to try the look myself. In fact, I'm going to do it right now... with you by my side. Yep. I'm that nice.
The Lamp Shop ($11)
Yes, for less than a pedicure, you can own a simple wire lampshade to dress up at your leisure. I'd pair this goodie with a white candelabra lamp, similar to our Skona Hem example. Perfect!
Lampshade Maker ($21)
Eek! A scalloped bell shade! Just what I've always wanted (for five minutes at least!). Wow. These options are gorgeous, and the prices fit the bill. Bonus!
Your Grandmother's Attic ($0)
A quick search in the family dumpster may provide another few options for you. Simply find an antique shade with some character/design, and remove the shade with an Xacto knife. Spray paint it white and presto -- a Scandinavian look for $5 or less.
I'm so in love with this look. Perhaps a trip to Scandinavia should be on my dream destination wish list... wherever Scandinavia may be.
Don't worry -- if you don't love the wire shade look, check out some of these luminating goodies! Read more:
