It's all in the legs... Photo: House of Habit
You know that scene in the movie "Clueless" (and don't tell me you don't remember, because come on -- it's "Clueless") where Christian looks lovingly at Cher and spouts off that ever-so-hilarious compliment, "Nice stems"? You do, right? Good. Because Cher's got nothing on House of Habit's stems, and I so badly want to remind Christian of his minor misquote.
Geez. I'm getting off the subject. With table legs made from leather, metal and stone-glass, House of Habit has introduced a new reason to fall in love with furniture. And just as a pair of shoes can spruce up any outfit, so can the table leg complete any coffee or dining room table look. I'd love to see a lovely painted leg in a crisp shade of lacquered mint to bring a mid-century coffee table into the future. Or perhaps an old secretary desk should get new kicks with faceted metal legs for a healthy dose of luxury.
Of course, you can find table legs at a variety of different retailers, including Table Legs Online, Rothley and Brown Wood, Inc. One of my favorite looks? Rothley's traditional farmhouse countertop table with sleek, modern, stainless legs. For a more exotic risk, try pairing these gorgeous Arabian horse table legs with an industrial tabletop. And of course, a budget find is always necessary (and sometimes beautiful!) with these silver IKEA legs that I'd place underneath a rustic coffee table. Whatever the look, be sure to spice things up a bit for an unexpected twist.
Proof that nice legs are always in style.
