Steele Canvas totes

Industrial-chic canvas bins from Steel Canvas make laundry day less of a chore. Photo: Steele Canvas

First, I saw one in Martha Stewart Living, then I saw one in Cookie, and now I am officially obsessed with Steele Canvas bags and totes. Unlike the industrial-chic light pieces from retailers like Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn, these bins are actually manufactured for commercial use -- Ladies and gentlemen, this is the real deal.

The bins come in a variety of shapes and sizes, both with and without wheeled bases. In additional to traditional canvas, Steele Canvas also offers a waterproof, anti-bacterial, vinyl-coated nylon called Steeletex. According to Steele Canvas, both the canvas and Steeletex trucks and baskets come standard on a steel frame with a steel undercarriage, which maximizes their strength and load capacities.

I think my dirty laundry would look much chicer in one of these sturdy totes than the blue IKEA bag it currently resides in, but I am hard pressed to justify spending nearly $100 on a laundry basket when that 59-cent IKEA sack works pretty darn well. However, they do look like they'd last for decades worth of use. Plus, I'd get to feel like I was on the set of Annie every day!
