High vs. Low: Mid-Century Modern Pendant Lighting

The long-praised Emil Stejnar pendant lit up the scene in the mid-50's and has been seemingly adored ever since. And with a price tag that reflects much more than adoration (read: obsession!), I'd argue it's time someone took Stejnar off his pendant-priming pedestal.

Luckily, IKEA has heard our cries loud and clear with our savvy Swedish source's introduction of the Maskros pendant: a paper version of the original brass-and-glass original. And at just $90, I'd say this lighting is much more a steal than a Stejnar.

Don't worry, Emil --- we still love you. We just happen to love next month's mortgage more.
