So, we've unpacked hardwood floors and laminate flooring; now it's time to chat about ceramic tiling. According to HGTV, ceramic tiles are "thin slabs of clay or other inorganic materials, hardened by oven firing and usually coated with some kind of glaze." A great solution for bathrooms, kitchens and entryways, there are many advantages (and a few disadvantages!) to ceramic tiling:

PROS:
1. Low maintenance. Ceramic is easy to clean and can be cared for with a variety of household cleaning products.
2. Variety. There are many different design options available for ceramic tile, so you can choose an aesthetic that suits your home.
3. Durability. Ceramic tile stands up to high traffic, so it works well in entryways or kitchens.
4. Investment. Ceramic tiling often increases the value of your home, so it pays to have ceramic installed.

CONS:
1. Installation. Often difficult to install, professional installation is highly recommended for ceramic tiling, but can be expensive.
2. Surface type. Ceramic's hardness makes it more susceptible to chipping or cracking if hit at a high impact.
3. Warmth. Ceramic feels colder to the touch, so may not be the coziest solution for a living room or bedroom.
