Next up in our fun look at types of floors (we've already covered hardwood floors) is laminate flooring. Here we'll break down a few pros, cons and important tips when choosing laminate flooring for your home. Ready?:

PROS:
1. Price! Laminate flooring is a less expensive solution for homeowners that love the look of hardwood, but can't stomach the price.
2. Stain and scratch resistant. A good solution for homeowners with pets, laminate flooring is more resistant to wear-and-tear than most flooring options.

CONS:
1. Can be difficult to install. If you choose to DIY the installation, be sure your subfloor is level to avoid a higher price tag in the long run.
2. Durability. Not all laminate flooring is created equal, so if you choose a less expensive option, the quality may be compromised and much less durable than a higher quality laminate.

So how do you choose the right laminate for you? Floorfacts.com has a great guide on the differences between laminate and a few options to consider. Get thee to the drawing board and decide for yourself!
