What's worse, the robbers aren't hardened criminals at all; a coterie of well-to-do teenagers from the Hollywood Hills is suspected of burglarizing Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and other stars. Members of "the Burglar Bunch," as the press calls them, were arrested in October, pleaded not guilty and are awaiting trial. After photos appeared of the teens wearing what looked to be some of the stolen jewelry, they better have Perry Mason as their attorney.
Here's who else has been broken into in the past year--and what they lost.
Celeb Burglaries
Everyone's favorite pirate Orlando Bloom suffered a break-in at his Hollywood Hills home last July (and no, Davy Jones wasn't named as a prime suspect). You won't believe what one of the accused robbers admitted doing while she was there...
Bloom is believed to have been robbed by what the press has deemed "the Burglar Bunch"--a group of well-connected teenagers in the Hollywood Hills who found the addresses of celebrities online. One of the accused admitted that while her friends were inside Bloom's home, she threw up and peed in his bushes! Bloom lost $500,000 worth of jewelry, cash and art in the robbery.
MTV reality star Audrina Patridge stole a few hearts by wearing a bikini for a Carl's Jr. advertisement last summer. Maybe it was payback for the February 2009 incident in which a young man and woman broke into her house and made off with bags full of her stuff. She took to her blog with security camera footage to ask fans for help identifying the perpetrators.
Cops pin this robbery on the out of control teenagers that also broke into several other celebrity homes in 2009, including Orlando Bloom's. They'd go online to determine when the stars were slated to be at awards shows and other events and would strike, making off with jewelry and clothes. Five teens were arrested in October and have pleaded not guilty.
No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani was in Singapore with the band when her London mansion was burglarized in September. Robbers made off with some of her tenant's things, but couldn't get into the "flat" Stefani shares with her husband, Gavin Rossdale, and their two sons.
Stefani rents a portion of the mansion to the head of the Arts Council of England, and that's where intruders managed to nab some stuff. They were unable to get into Stefani's space. The home itself is worth a rock star-esque $6 million.
Reality star, new mom and Calabasas shop owner Kourtney Kardashian is no stranger to intruders; her store, DASH, was burglarized in May of 2009. Looks like lightning does strike twice, as Kardashian's Calabasas condo suffered a break-in in October 2009 while she was out to dinner.
The burglars made off with Kardashian's Cartier watch (worth around $30,000--ouch!), her boyfriend's Rolex, a heap of diamonds and some vintage jewelry left to her by her father. If only the TV cameras that are constantly following Kourtney and her sisters had gotten some footage of the robbers.
Party girl Lindsay Lohan reported an apparent burglary at her Hollywood Hills home in August 2009 and said the burglars seemed familiar with the property and the items that would mean the most to her. Looks like in addition to forgetting her nightly underwear, she sometimes forgets to lock the front door.
The Lohan home burglary looks to be the work of--surprise!--the teenage "Burglar Bunch." Soon afterward, Lohan posted on her Twitter: "Electronics weren't taken... just things that a certain old friend knew meant a lot to me." Can't this girl catch a break?

I was hacked ten years ago and the spammer sent out hundreds of e-mails using my login. took weeks to sort out.
At least the girl burglar was considerate enough to throw up and pee outside Orlando Bloom's house. Gross would have been doing that on the carpet or furniture.
