Created by designer Jeroen van de Kant, the Blofield inflatable Chesterfield is available for purchase at Design Conscious for a whopping $700. Praised for its portability and innovative character, the Blofield recently won the Red Dot Design award for Best Product Design.
OK, here's the deal. I get that it's a Chesterfield, which to me, is a couch that exudes plenty of sophisticated, bookish charm. Yet I have a funny feeling not even the name Chesterfield can turn a blow-up couch into something cultured. Think about it. When is the last time the term "blow-up" was attached to something you would even consider owning in your home? Certainly not a blow-up doll. And an inflatable lamp? No thanks.
