Each year, HGTV offers a stellar dream home giveaway for one lucky winner. And each year, they get better and better... and better. But the dream home that's been in my heart lately is the 2008 home in Islamorada, Florida. 3,500-square-feet on three stories and a closet just for fishing equipment! It's a modern, colorful home amidst tropical paradise designed with no expense spared that has set my heart aflutter.
Sure, 2009's Dream Home in Sonoma, CA (see more pictures from HGTV) and the current 2010 Dream Home in Sandia Park, NM are impressive, but the exterior of this Islamorada property is right up my alley. Nestled right on the crystal blue waters of the Florida Bay, this home takes full advantage of its stunning natural surroundings. And with a rustic kitchen and immaculate design, I'd love to relocate to the sunny south in search of a home like this.
And with the 2008 winners' plans to sell the property due to tax burdens, perhaps I'll have a chance to move in someday (someday being the operative word here!).
