Black Fruit

Just spray away to make this spooky display. Photo: Laura Fenton

You say you're not crafty? Well, here's a Halloween project that I promise you can do, whether you're as handy as Bob Villa or all thumbs when it comes to do-it-yourself tasks. Anyone can create this creepy decoration looks like a deadly assortment of devilish fruit.

To make this yourself, you'll need a collection of fake fruit (I picked mine up at the craft store), a can of black paint and a can of spray paint primer. I recommend starting with a spray primer so the paint will adhere to the fruit better. Then simply spray paint your faux fruits black. Also, be sure to work in a well-ventilated space and protect your surround surfaces with newspaper or a drop cloth while spray painting. Presto: The creepiest fruit bowl you ever saw!
