Farm style storage bins

I like to dream about owning a country house someday – maybe a converted barn on a few acres a ways up the Hudson River. Like any city dweller I dream of a yard and more than one tiny bedroom. However, for me, what would be most exciting about a second home would be the chance to decorate and furnish a whole new home!

I imagine embracing a rustic décor scheme for my country home, with rough-hewn linen and vintage, country furniture. Somehow this look feels especially right, right now, when our economic climate is still uncertain and everyone is at home nesting instead of out spending. Plus, I am sick to death of pristine lofts filled with nothing but mid-century furniture

While a house in the country is still years away, I can still embrace a farm chic aesthetic in my New York City digs, especially when many retailers are embracing humble fabrics and barnyard motifs this fall. Here are eight home accessories that can give your home a farm fresh look. Above Galvanized Metal Canister, $8, Pottery Barn and Iron Wire Basket, $35, West Elm.

I have the Sur La Table Rooster Red towel and just love it. It adds a touch of Tuscany to my kitchen. May seem pricey but it is very well made and will last a long time.
