bathroom, tub, shower, curtainsWelcome to your new (and dramatically improved!) bathtub. Photo: Benjamin Dhong

The moment I spotted this gorgeous tub/shower combo in the portfolio of Benjamin Dhong, I knew I had to figure out how to make it. I've never seen panels used as a shower curtain, but I think the look is rich and luxurious. Similar to a cornice board on an everyday window, it's amazing how a bit of extra fabric can turn a drab tub and shower combo into a spa-like setting perfect for a lounge-worthy bathroom.

Shall we re-create the look right here on ShelterPop? I thought you'd never ask...

I'd start with a basic shower curtain liner and cut it vertically in half. If you'd like a more luxurious feel, opt for two shower curtain liners to act as panels; this will give you a fuller, flowy aesthetic for your curtain. Next, I'd pair a bordered fabric shower curtain and repeat the process --- cut in half vertically (and remember to hem!), or simply use two shower curtains to act as panels.

Then, I'd purchase a third fabric shower curtain in the same border to create your panel at the top. This will appear as a cornice board from far away, but will give your shower an instant glam factor. For our black and white bathroom, I'd replace Benjamin's starburst mirror with Ironies' Araby style, but be sure to mount with a waterproof sealant, and keep it from fogging by buffing with shaving cream.

If you have the extra space, I think these two faceted mirror side tables would go swimmingly with our new look!

Gorgeous, right? Looks like bath time just got a bit more exciting...
